My artistic process involves meditation designed to alchemize emotion and energy, allowing my art to come through me and into physical form. My purpose in creating this work is to evoke an emotional response through the energy in my art, connecting the viewer with their own heart space. By doing so, I hope to enable them to carry forward that energy of healing and transformation into their lives and, therefore, the world.
Lisa Ledson is a self-taught abstract artist residing in Napa, California, who began her career in 2017 after experiencing a major shift in her personal life. Her energy-filled abstract paintings draw inspiration from creative forms of self-expression, her own emotional experiences, and exploration of the spiritual world. Ledson grew up in the small town of Kenwood, California, where the arts were a prominent part of her upbringing, thanks to her mother's strong creative influence and her Waldorf education. She attributes her artistic inclination to her early exposure to both the visual and performing arts. Trained extensively in ballet, Ledson’s sense of movement is an intrinsic part of her practice.
For Ledson, painting is a form of active meditation and has been a catalyst for her personal transformation. Her artistic practice is built on the exploration of the metaphysical and spiritual world, wherein she sees herself more as a conduit for whatever energy wants to come through and onto her canvas. She believes that the energy coming through her art is meant to stir and elevate the lives of people inspired by her work.
